User accounts

I was working on a friends PC with Windows XP which only
had the administrator account. (Not sure how this was
accomplished)It has been running this way since
installation. There was some trouble in setting up a LAN.
A user was created since the error involved insufficient
rights. The new user was unable to create the LAN either.
Now you can only access the admin account in safe mode.
All the current user settings for the admin account are
no longer accessable, as you are now forced to og in as
the new user. Is there a way to delete the new user and
get the system back to only having the administrator
account?
Please direct replys also to the email account.

That is Pro that lets Administrator be available like that.
As soon as there was another, Administrator becomes
hidden from the Welcome screen.
With no account logged in / switched out, use of alt-cntrl-del-del
lets one log in with any account, including Administrator.
You can use TweakUI from the XP PowerToys to control
which accounts are visible on the Welcome screen.
