User accounts not showing

After not using this PC for 2 months (it has 3 user account set up) when I
boot up I get one log in dialogue screen (though I don't think its the
normal windows one) with default for the username and a space for a password
and nothing else on the screen. I can get in using the administrator
password, but I would like to be able to see the three user accounts again

You need Tweak UI XP to change this.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Download & install. Run it from Start Menu
In LH column select Logon & on the RH side select accounts to be displayed
in Welcome Screen.
Regards Mike.

Hi Trevor,

Try this:

1. Start, Run, type control userpasswords2 and press Enter
2. Click the Advanced tab and uncheck "Require users to press
Ctrl+Alt+Delete"
Log off (maybe a reboot is needed). The Welcome screen should appear.

If not, log in as Administrator again and in Control Panel open User
Accounts. Click "Change the way users log on and off". Check "Use the
Welcome screen".

Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete" was already unchecked, but the
other option has worked - many thanks to both of you - a great help

Have downloaded and installed a few of these, but where do they go? Nothing
shows in the start menu.

All Programs, "Powertoys for Windows XP" is usually where it goes.

Go back to where you selected the Welcome Screen option in User
Accounts. There is another option for Fast User Switching. There are
conditions to allowing FUS to work. Read about it here:
