user accounts cannot login

On two wks with xp pro and on a w2000 server I am no more able to login using user accounts.
I get the following message:
"User account don't allow the use of this workstation. Use another workstation"
This happen also on new installation of the system. The local policy explicitly allows the local and network acces to the interested user account. The same happens if I delete an recreate the account.
Forcing the user to change the password, the new password is accepted but then the access is not granted.
Does anywone know how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Renato

Are you sure the message you are getting is correct? I am going that the
message should be;

Your account is configured to prevent you from logging on and using this
workstation. Please try another workstation.

A couple of things to look at on this;

160783.KB.EN-US Error message: Users cannot log on to a workstation
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;160783

Check to see if the Security log is full. Set the security log to a larger
size or Dump the log.

Are these computers in a workgroup or domain? You mentioned the local policy
looks fine, if in a domain, what about domain policy?

Hope this helps!

You are right, I translated from the Italian of the client xp installation

There were too many security objects logged, I have removed the successful ones and increased log size
Now its all right

Thanks

Better job at translating than I could do. ;-)

Glad we were able to find the problem.
