User account manager blank window

Allen Flanigan

Hi,

when I click on my user account manager (in the control panel) all I get is
a blank window. The title bar at the top reads:
res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\nusrmgr.cpl/nusrmgr.hta

Any suggestions on how I can access/get my user accounts manager to work?

I am owner with administrative privileges.

Thanks,

Ramesh,

I tried this script but it did not solve the problem.

I get the impression that some sort of HTA stop patch/fix was released in
2003 and this is what is causing my problem?

Hi Allen,

See if this helps.

User Accounts applet is completely blank, or displays raw HTML code:

I forgot to mention this is the consumer/home version of Windows XP.

Allen,

I remember the HTAStop utility which renames notepad.exe to mshta.exe (backs
up the existing copy anyway).

You may give this URL a go.

User Accounts applet is completely blank:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/useracc.htm

and

Several dialog boxes are blank:

And, are you using IE7 per chance? After installing IE7, few users were
experiencing delay when opening the User Accouns appley.
