Use formating to display cents as dollars and cents ?

I know that I can use a comma in a format to "scale" a
cell's value by 1000 before display, but what I'd like to
do is use formatting to "scale" a cell's value by 100
before displaying. Is this possible ?

My values are all cents (12345) and I'd like to use format
to display them as dollars and cents ($123.45). I know
that I can simply use another column, use a formula to
divide the original value by 100, and then format to
display what I need, but I'm hoping I can use formatting
to avoid creating another column and formula. (I'm trying
to keep this simple so I can document the steps for my
customers to do something on their own.)

Thanks to anyone taking the time to consider this !
