Use Bluetooth headset as PC headset?

Is it possible to do that using the Microsoft Bluetooth stack that comes
with XP SP2?

Or, does one have to install Widcomm drivers for that?

It certainly would be convenient for using VOIP programs like Skype.

I use mine with a Bluetooth USB dongle that came with Widcomm drivers for
XP, works fine with Skype.
From what I've read The XP stack is not recommended by most for some reason.

You should try the Plantronics Voyager 510USB, it is a plug and play
dongle just for using headsets with XP/2000. Gives full call control
functions with popular Voip and Messenger services.

For other uses I find the XP SP2 BT stack quite sufficient. It works
reliably, with any BT dongle (unlike Widcomm, where you have to use the
version supplied by the dongle manufacturer), functions well with no
problems, and doesn't require any additional software installation. It has
worked fine for everything I have tried with it, other than a headset, with
more than one BT dongle.

However, if it doesn't support the use of a BT headset (as it appears not
to, please someone correct me if I'm wrong about that), that is a major
defect in it. Anyone know why Microsoft didn't include support for a headset
in their BT stack? Are they planning to correct that soon?
