Use a cell, containing a tabname, in a function

I have a column of tabnames in a summary worksheet. I would like to create
formulas that pull data from the individual tabs into the summary tab, but I
would like the summary tab to reference the column of tab names:

Summary tab:
A1 = john B2 = 1st week earnings for john B3 = 2nd week earnings for
john
A2 = jane B2 = 1st week earnings for jane B3 = 2nd week earnings for
jane
A3 = mary B2 = 1st week earnings for mary B3 = 2nd week earnings for mary

john, jane and mary all have separate tabs, and each of their tabs have
specific cells with the data I need (i.e. - john!A17).

Since I'll be adding more weeks and more users dynamically, I would like to
utilize a function that looks at the A column in the summary sheet.

Any ideas?
