USB1 leads and trailer ports

Am switching m/b's. New board has USB2 with support for extension ports.
Old m/b had USB1, 2 ports on the m/b, with 4 extension ports.
QUESTION - can I use the existing extension sockets/leads already fitted to
my tower case for USB2?

Dumb question, probably, but we all have to learn. It's my first m/b switch,
I'm nervous, covering all bases as far as poss.
