USB Unknown Device/BulkUsb problem

Hello All,

My OS is Windows XP Pro SP2

I have the following USB devices on my system:

Brother HL-1250 Ptinter
Epson 1670 Scanner
Logitech iFeel Mouse
Maxtor OneTouch External Hard Disk

All these devices were working fine up until yesterday when I accidently
turned off the power on the external hard disk (at the plug socket) while it
was in use and turned the power straight back on again. Immediately after
the power resumed the external hard disk and epson scanner didn't work and
are now listed in device manager as an 'Unknown Device'. If you look at the
properties of the device it says it is working properly but do no drivers
are loaded.

I have tried all I can think of to resolve the problem but I am now at a
lost. The following things I have tried but haven't worked:

1. Tried the scanner and ext. hdd in all 6 USB sockets
2. Tried system restore 1 week and 1 month restore point
3. Uninstalled and re-installed all software for the scanner
4. Booted into safe mode and removed all USB devices & controllers from
Device Manager, Deleted all USB* registry keys from
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum

The iFeel mouse and Brother printer work in all 6 USB ports.

The scanner and ext. hdd works on any other computer.

An error in event log states that 'BulkUsb' has failed to start each time I
boot ever since things went wrong

BulkUsb is not listed in the hidden Non Plug & Play section of Device
Manager like it is on other PC's.

Please can anyone suggest how I could resolve this. Thank you.

Try unplugging the usb cable, for devices that are not being correctly
detected, from your computer.
Then find and delete thier entries in the device manager, then reboot.
Next make sure the usb devices are on and plug thier usb cable back into you
computer, 1 at a
time and give windows time to detect and load it's drivers before plugging
the next one back in.

Make sure you're plugging them back into the same usb port.
If that fails, try plugging them into different ports.
