The keyboard has to be designed to do both PS/2 and USB with the simple adapters
which just convert the physical connector and have no electronics in them.

Generally speaking a keyboard that does both starts out as
USB and can use a PS2 adapter, not the other way around.

There are adapters. Some are the more basic type that look
simple like connectors on both ends and a small integrated
blob on the cable, or there are the more elaborate docking
station like multifunction bases with several ports -
typically including PS2 - in them.

if you look all over usenet through google you'll see posts about it.
As has been written, you can go to google images, and search for ps2
to usb (it is that way around, you are plugging a ps2 keyboard into a
usb port). Then you will see small adaptors and large ones. You need
a large one.

USB-Ps2 , usb keyb into ps2 socket, is fine with a small adaptor .
But not the other way around. You can do USB-Ps2-USb-ps2, then small
adaptors would work.. even with the ps2-usb in the middle, 'cos you're
starting off with the usb keyb, that has the electronics in it allowing
ps2 to work too. But ps2 keyboard don't have the electronics for usb.
(maybe they make special ones that do, but no point. If you want a new
keyboard you can get a USB one, and use an adaptor if you want ps2)

Yes, they do exist. They more commonly supply a
number of legacy ports like serial and parallel from
USB and some of those include a PS/2 port too.

They arent cheap and it may well make more
sense to get a decent USB keyboard instead.

I got one just ps2 ports for about £7 , so, < $15

if you look on google images you'll see LOADS [of the big ones] with
just ps2.

I know! here many Good Will don't even accept keyboard as they have so
many and none buyer. Years ago, I saw they were selling around $1-2 a pop
