USB Storage of any kind not recognized

I downloaded yamipod a few weeks back to dl some stuff off my ipod, initially
my ipod was recognized, but then it wasn't. I tried another software, more
of the same. I tried my flash drive and it wouldn't work. I tried another
flash drive from work, it wouldn't work. I tried hooking up my camera, it
wouldn't work. All of these drives, my ipod, and my camera still worked find
on another computer in the house and my work computer.

My other USB devices work fine, my keyboard, printer, scanner, and webcam.
I've tried uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling all of them, same
problem. The drives intially showed up under devices as a usb device that
wasn't working, shortly tho they just didn't show up at all.

I tried reinstalling the drivers from the flash manufacturer. I tried
disabling and re-enabling the usb support from the motherboard. Tried
reinstalling the motherboard usb drivers. Tried plugging the drive into one
of the ports that I knew to be working, nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling that the file that
intiates the computer recognizing the flash memory is damaged and regardless
of my reinstallation, the same base INF or DLL or whatever is damaged. If
someone knows what files this is, I can copy it from a working computer, but
I just need to know what that file is.

Try typing the following on the Start-Run line:

SFC /SCANNOW

Have your XP CD handy
