USB Power - Xerox 252 Scanner - Turn Lamp Off

Hi,

I recently installed a Xerox 252 DocuMate scanner. (BTW... I think this
scanner is great compared with those that I had previously.)

The software which came with the scanner (One Touch) is configured to power
the scanner lamp off after 15 minutes. But, that never happens.

I can manually turn the lamp off with no problem via the One Touch software.

The scanner is connected to the system via a USB 2.0 cable/port. I have
checked to make sure that the USB port is configured to allow the computer to
turn the device off for power saving.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jeff

That/s a scanner software issue, NOT an XP issue. Contact your vendor
for fixes.

I already did. I am just hoping someone else on this board had the same
problem, which to date hasn't been solved by Xerox.

You told the computer to turn off the USB port, not the scanner.
If the USB port is shut down to save power, it won't be allowing commands to
be sent to the scanner to shut the lamp off.
