USB Ports not working for Windows XP Pro

- Purchased a Dell Dimension XPS with Windows XP Home
installed
- Upgraded to Windows XP Pro using MS Windows XP Pro
Upgrade
- Have installed all of the appropriate SP and Driver
Update
- System will not recognize my USB Dell Optical Mouse
---> Mouse is working fine on other systems so is not
mouse hardware issue
---> MS PS2 mouse works fine

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

It may very well be that the mouse driver being used is getting copied over
with each install.

I'd recommend you remove the device and un-install any accompanying software
that came with it. Then reboot. Plug the mouse back in and re-install the
device again.
