USB PlugnPlay

Hey,
I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 5100 Laptop from Win XP
Home to Win XP Professional. After the upgrade, all my
PlugnPlay USB Devices (external Floppy Drive, Digi Cam)
were not AutoDetected. I have XP Professional SP1
installed. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Unpulg the USB devices from the USB hubs.
go to device manager and uninstall the XXX PCI to USB Open Host Controller and reboot.
Let XP search and re-install the USB drivers.
Pulg back the USB devices one at each time and check to ensure it works properly.

Hello Dood,

Have a similar problem myself and I have factory
installed XP Home software.

If you check your 'Device Manager' you should have 2 'USB
Host Controllers', & 2 'USB Root hubs'. All 4 of the
mentioned should have 'Driver Files'. (Right click on
them and check out their properties) If any are missing,
or if they don't have driver files ..... No USB
connection.

I've no idea how to fix this one, but if your problem
lies within the configuration of your 'USB Controllers'
and you find a way before me I'd appreciate being let in
on the secret.
