USB MP3 Player

When I plug in and switch on my USB MP3 player I used to
get an application running that enabled me to rip from
CD's to the player. Now for some unknown reason I get an
Autoplay popup with no items listed and I have to close
the popup and start the application manually. The device
is listed in device manager as working properly. I have
spoken to the player manufacturer's technical support but
they could only suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the
player software and drivers which did not solve the
problem. Does anyone know if there is some method to add
the player software to the autoplay list so that I can
select it and tick the "always perform the selected
action" box to make the program run automatically again?

here's what I would do if it was a CD, it may work for your device. Wait
until its connected, then go to my computer, double click and right click on
the MP3 device. select properties, then autoplay. Hopefully your ripper is
there as a choice, if so tick the box to have it always selected. If its not
there sorry I dont know how to add it, other than (but you already tried
this) when I had a similar issue, reinstalling the app put it back there.

Tumbleweed - Although the player is listed in Device
Manager under USB it is not listed in My Computer so I
cannot select autoplay from there. Thanks for trying.
