USB Flash Drive and 2.0

I have a 1 gig, PNY Mini Attache that won't connect at the 2.0 speed.
I have to insert/remove it several times before it will connect. When
I insert the drive, the "this device can run faster if you connect it
to a 2.0 hub".

This error happens on any computer that I try to connect this USB Mass
Storage device to.

Any ideas?

Here is something interesting. I had 1.* Firefox installed along with
RoboForm. RoboForm was installed with the USB option. I then upgraded
Firefox to the ver 2.0. When I started Firefox, it told me that this
version of RoboForm was not supported at which point I was given the
option to un-install it, which I did.

Seems like the thumb drive gave me problems ever since then.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

USB 2.0 speeds also require the correct USB 2.0 'hardware" installed. You
need to check in Device Manager so as to see if that you have a correct listed
"enhanced" USB controller fot USb 2.0.

Do your PCs have one?

Yes, it does. My thumb drives have worked for the last several
months....just recently the drive quit working at the 2.0 speed.

You now may have to "reset" the USB configuration in your Windows XP.
Disconnect all the USB devices and remove every device un the USB section in
Device Manager, Then, reboot XP and let it re-detect/re-install the USB
controllers and root hubs.
