USB FIREWIRE/COMBO

I'm trying to install the usb/firewire combo to my
computer and every time I try to update the driver
from 1.1 to 2.0 the computer shuts down and a message
appears that it was shut down to protect my computer.
DFB-A5 USB 2.0\FIREWIRE COMBO PCI ADAPTER(D-LINK)
WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER
DELL DIMENSION 520

I'm confused. You cannot upgrade a USB 1.1 port to a USB 2.0 port through
software. The plug may be the same, but the ports are completely different
hardware devices.

If you are only trying to update the drivers (you will still get the same
speed), try deleting the drivers from Device Manager and rebooting. Select
the new drivers when Windows asks for them.
