usb drives drive letter pleaseeeee

hi i m the admin of a lil network i have a problem in a pc with win xp with
sp2 integrated have 512 in ram an intel procesor 3.06 ghz, a 160 sata hard
drive partitioned in 3 drives c: d: e: in a msi mainboard and i dont have a
network drive or something like that i install every driver and os 2 weeks
ago but until 1 week i can use every usb driver like pendrives, junkdrives,
media players, external hard drives and every thing works greate but now when
i connect a pendrive or something the system tellme that was installed a usb
device and is ready to use but when i go to my i can see the drive , i use
the system manager and i go to the disk manager and i see my usb device
withou a drive letter and i give a letter thinking that this will work but it
doest i go to my pc and dont see this i use the command line and nothig
happend but when i come back to the drive manager i put right click and chose
explore i access to my pendrive in the explorer i close an i try again usin
my pc or explorer and nothing happends i try again with the drive letter and
nothing
what happen ??? i use the same usb devices in other machines and works
perfect
was disable a service or something??? please i need helppppppppp

Ever heard of punctuation? Anyway, reading from the paragraph
consisting of just 1 phrase, the only suggestion that might
work is to re-enumerate the USB pen drives. Next time whilst
in Disk Management, assign each one of them a drive letter.
Sometimes, using the pendrive in another computer could have
resulted in an altered signature which this computer no longer
recognizes.

I've seen this as well, and I've commented on it in another post. There's
actually two fixes to this (and assigning the drive letter isn't one of
them). the first is to use the Open button in an application like Excel to
popoup the mini folder window, which you can then right click the drive and
Open (not explore). The second option is that you can mount it to a NTFS
folder. I have my suspicions that there is a bug in Microsoft's DRM that is
preventing the drive from being displayed normally.
