USB Camera, Memory Stick Not Displayed in Windows Explorer.

WinXP Pro SP2 desktop, all the latest critical updates.

I tried to install the Daemon Tools for working with Virtual PC and ISO
images. The Daemon Tools is one of the 3rd-party tools mentioned here.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/faq/
(Under the topic, "What are ISO image files and how do I use them?")

The install crashed early in the process. I followed the procedure in "How
to remove DAEMON Tools V4" to deinstall it.
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/t6992-how-to-remove-daemon-tools-v4.html

Now my USB camera and memory sticks do not show up in Windows Explorer.
They work as expected on my laptop. They show up fine in Device Manager.
They also appear in Disk Management and I can assign them drive letters, but
even after waiting half an hour Explorer can't access e.g. E:\

I reinstalled the Universal Serial Bus controllers from the advice in the
only MS support article I could find but that didn't help either. "General
USB troubleshooting in Windows XP"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310575/en-us

I would really appreciate help getting my USB memory sticks working again!
I'm running low on disk space and need to add a USB hard drive to the
computer.

Thanks.

Ben -- Yes I'm aware that (unlike VMWare) Virtual PC does not support USB.

My question is related to the fact that software I installed to support
using Virtual PC (apparently) bombed and took away the ability for my
desktop to use *any* USB disks. Further, I tried the software because it
was mentioned on a Microsoft web page.

Help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Ah - you should try asking in the Daemon Tools forums then.
