usb 2.0 working as 1.1

hi, none of my usb ports are working at 2.0 speed - i have plugged about 10
different usb devices into my pc and it always says this device could
perform faster etc. it says this regardless of which port it is plugged into.
i have updated my mobo bios and in dev manager i have 2 enhanced host
controllers which it says are working correctly and have tried updating the
drivers but it says they are upto date. i bought a new pci usb 2.0 hub and
installed the driver in case my original usb ports were in some way faulty
but i have exactly the same problem. my mobo is a MSI K8N Neo2 and am using
xp home which is fully updated. thanks in advance.

ensure in the bios settings under usb that it is set to usb 2 not 1 i think
that will solve your problem

hi, thanks for the reply. i dont have a setting to choose between usb 2 and
1. the only settings are usb controller (enabled), usb keyboard and usb
mouse (both disabled)
