URL for MS mouse driver download?

I need the driver software for a MS wheel mouse. Below is exactly the file
I'm trying to find.

Manufacturer: Microsoft
Operating System(s): Windows
Model: Intellimouse 1.1a PS/2
File name: driver22506.zip
File size: 998199 bytes

The site Google lists for that file is DriverGuide, a very dishonest site.
When you click on download, instead, it wants to download their Driver
Detective, "freeware"- my guess is it is spyware.

Does anyone know a real URL so I can download this file?

TIA

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/input/5b_wheel.mspx
is the 5 wheel mouse. Do you mean just the regular two buttons with
the wheel?

Try deleting it from Device Manager and rebooting, Windows will find it and
reload the driver.

Is it the USB type? If so, try unplugging it - down power then reboot.

If you mean this one, it's actually not DriverGuide, but DriverFiles

http://www
driverfiles.net/Input-Devices/Microsoft/Intellimouse-1.1a-PS/2/download/page
,sh,22506,138,20,.html

Clicking on the Download Driver links takes you to;

http://www drivershq.com/Default.asp?af=driverfiles&bn=5

Which is also nothing to do with DriverGuide (which is actually legit btw)

In any case, the mouse you've mentioned, will work just fine with the
generic driver provided by Windows itself.

Thanks, Steve and others that replied. I will have to disconnect my
Logictech and try the MS mouse.

Since we are back to Windows itself, I hope your answer applies to W2K.

Not just W2K, but all of them (with the exception of pre-95 of course,
hehe).

Thought you used 98 btw?....

My old P166 died, and the new computer the tech built for me was supposed
to be for W98SE, but the hardware wouldn't run it with stability, so I had
to go to W2K. My general impression, it is like XP without the garbage.
Time marches on. I hope to reformat a W95 computer and install W98SE, I
liked it.

hehe, aslong as it's not gone for good ;o)

Just got one of my old test machines back (PII-350) and am planning on
shoving 98SE on that myself as I need a 9x test machine (lent it to work for
OCR'ing)
