URGENT! I have lost everything in Outlook

Yesterday in our office I was asked by a telephone technican to shut down my
computer, as he needed to get to the phone system which is behind my desk.

I logged onto another computer and then was moved from there and logged onto
another. Each time I was able to access my outlook - sent messages, personal
folders and my contacts and calender; all containing information I have input.

However when I logged back onto my own computer I was asked if I wanted to
install new updates, which I agreeded to. It then restarted my computer, I
then opened Outlook and all my emails, folders, contacts, calender info was
gone.

I cannot access shared calenders - I am told that outlook needs to be online
or connected. What does this mean??

How can I get it all back? Please say there is a way!!!

Connection to the internet and Outlook being off-line are totally unrelated!
Open Outlook and go to File-Work On/Offline - right down at the bottom of
the drop-down menu.

I did look to see if I could do this - but I am not being giving the option.
When I open file, there is no option to work online.

Are you seeing the whole menu, or are there two little arrows at the bottom?

Yes but yuo still need to "open" file to access the drop down menu - I have
searched through every menu, drop down box etc and I cannot find a work on
line option. Trust me it is not there.

Then either your IT dept have disabled that function deliberately, or you
have a borked install of Outlook....possibly. Have you talked to your IT
dept about this?

Rhianne,
Have you tried this.
1. Close Outlook on your PC.
2. Go to the last PC, that you were on that you could see your Outlook
folders on.
3. Open Outlook, and see if those folders are still visible there.
4. If they are, Right click the Personal folder that contain your message
folders, and other folders, from your PC.
5. Select Properties for Personal folder> Select Advance button> and find
the *.PST file location/name for those folders. It should show the
location/name on your PC. Write down the location.
6. Again right click the "personal folder", but this time chose to "Close
Personal Folder".
7. Go back to your PC> Open Outlook> Under FILE> OPEN> Outlook Data File>
Browse to the location that you found the *PST file with the other PC>
Select it> Select Open button.
8. Now you should have your old message and folders listed in a separate
Personal Folder, folder tree. You can either leave it like that having two
folder trees, or move messages and other stuff back to the new folders that
Outlook created. If you choose moving stuff, consider moving the stuff from
the newer folders, to the older ones, and then try to close the "Personal
folder", and the folders in it, that was created, yesterday.

Off the top of my head, when you access your Outlook folders from a
different PC, you PC's Outlook, lost connection with them, and a new blank
folder was created. That is why it is not recommended to share Outlook *.PST
files over a network, cause it may lead to connection or corruption issues.
