Upsizing Wizard in Access 2000 Working?

I am trying to use the upsizing wizard on Access 2K (SP1)
and Win2K (SP2) to connect to SQL2K. I get "overflow" on
all attempts to connect. The fixes mentioned in the
knowledgebase I cannot get to work either. Is there
indeed a workable upsizing wizard for this version of
Access? If so, how do I get it? Is it worth the
trouble. I could import the data with DTS, but I was
hoping it would also create the stored procs for adds,
deletes, modifies, etc.

Thanks for any info.

I hope that someone picks up this posting to an older entry. I'm having the
same problem, but I can answer your question definitively that the upsizing
wizard does work, and has worked for me for several years. Moreover, KB
article 328306 gives a detailed analysis of this particular problem.

I post because I'm having a different, though similar problem.

I haven't used the upsizing wizard for several months or maybe a year. I
now find that the wizard is not working and that I get the error message "SQL
Server does not exist or access denied."

I suspect that something has gone wrong when installing a Windows update, an
Office update, or an MDAC update.

To begin with, my Access 2K application works o.k., so there is no problem
getting to the SQL server with my ODBC connection. I can import tables from
the server, and I can link tables. It seems to be only the upsizing wizard
that does not work.

I have two machines. At home, I have Windows XP, and at work I have Windows
2K pro. Same problem both machines. I believe all office updates are
current, and I have SP3. I was using MDAC 2.7. Recently, I installed the
SP2 on the XP machine, and this upgraded me to MDAC 2.8. I discovered this
when I moved a copy of my application from home to work and got an error. So
I've also upgraded the work machine to MDAC 2.8.

The problem happens with NAV turned off.

I sent a copy of my table to the tech at the ISP hosting my database, and he
claims it works fine on his machine. However, he is using Access 2003.

I uninstalled SP2 on the XP machine and went back to MDAC 2.7. No help.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The problem persists if NIS/NAV is disabled.

I've looked at 328306, and I've forwarded it to the tech at the server with
my database. (There are so many possibilities that I'm at a loss which ones
would be most likely.)

I'm stuck with the fact that this happens on both and xp and a W2k machine
(suggesting it is not windows unless it is one of the security patches), that
it is happening with MDAC 2.7 or 2.8, and that I never had a problem in the
past. I suspect some upgrade on the server end creating an incompatibility
with Access 200 is my problem.

Any further suggestions welcome. Thank you.
