Uploading Photos

I just bought a digital camera. On my Walmart photos it says you can upload
them and send them to the store for developing. Do I need special equipment
to do that? I have nothing specifically for photos.

No special equipment needed, just an Internet connection.

1. Make a new folder on your PC. A good idea is to make it under My
Documents\My Pictures, since the My Pictures folder is already made by XP
and will be the default folder for pictures. Give this new folder a name you
can easily remember. A date and event. Something like:
2005_10_14 My first digital pictures.
If you use this system, date/event your picture folders will be listed in
chronological order and will be easy to find.
2. After you make the folder, connect the camera to your PC and copy the
files from the memory card of the camera to this new folder on your hard
drive.
3. Once the photos are on your hard drive, connect to the Wal-Mart site on
the Internet and follow their directions to select the photos you want
printed.

A good idea, after you have these photos on your hard drive, is to copy them
to a CD-R so you can have a backup. I don't know if you connect to the
internet via a phone line or DSL. If on a phone line, it will take quite a
bit of time to upload photo files. It maybe better to simply bring the CD-R
with your photos on it to a Wal-Mart store.
