compared to same upload using Windows 2000 Pro. Both system using DSL
connection. Why is there a different in the upload speed?

Windows has a better TCP/IP stack.

Hmm, my experience is just the opposite.

On a dual boot machine with a 10MB inteernet connection I find that Win2K is
about 10% faster in both directions. The FTP client used is Filezilla.
