Upgrading Win XP from Home Edition to Professional

I have had difficulity with Windows File Explorer working properly and I have
WIN XP home. Is WIN XP Professional a "more stable" platform and...can I
upgrade "up-grade" with OUT re-installing my software programs.

Hi John,

WinXP Home and Pro are the same basic operating system. The difference is in
the functionalities available in the Pro version. Stability-wise, they are
exactly the same. Yes, you can upgrade with the Pro Upgrade disk if you
wish, but it will likely not help you with your stability issue. For that, I
would look first to removing malware (many ad/spy programs will destabilize
a system).
