Upgrading Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate

Purchased a new Gateway GM5410E with Vista Home Premium installed.
Purchased Vista Ultimate upgrade.

Ran upgrade advisor, it said no problems, but could not identify some
hardware (stock)

Ran the upgrade, failed at the first reboot. Doubled checked virus tools,
etc - it's wide open (but behind my d-link router firewall).

Suggestions?
I must run Virtual PC 2007 so that I can connect to my work VPN and use
Webmail. If I can't upgrade, I will have to return everything, which is not
an acceptable solution for what should be a straightforward exercise.

Hi,

Check with Gateway as there may be some needed system driver that is not
part of the retail version.
