I have a Linksys VPN wired router. I went to their download site and
downloaded the current firmware file. It is in a Zip file and has a .bin
extension. I click the upgrade firmware link. There are two bars on this
page. The first is browse for file. The secon right below the first is the
progress bar. I browse and open the file where the firmware upgrade is. When
I click up grade I receive an immediate IE alert that this is an "incorrect
file image." After that I see another alert in the bottom right corner
alerting me that my network connection is unplugged. I see about 5-6 bars on
the progress bar and then my router page closes abruptly. Then I get that
page when your connection is not connected.
1. Does anyone know what the problem is?
2. Is there a way to work around, over under or through it. I have a website
through Yahoo! and even with the firewall in the router and my Nortons 2005
IS I got a DOS that really wiped me out. I would really like to get my
firmware upgraded so that I can go to even more extreme measures so that this
never happens again.
Thanks,
Sean
