Upgrading from XP Home to Pro

Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite A30 laptop with xp home, am trying to upgrate to
Win XP Pro.
Setup stops at 34 minutes left. Repeatedly restart.....

what should I do??????

First get in the bathtub and give yourself a good
scrubbing, then clean your teeth thoroughly, then . . .
oh, sorry, wrong issue . . . hey I'd contact Toshiba . . .

Start your PC with 'Previous Operating SYstem' if this option is available

Run a full Virus scan and make sure that if you are using Norton AV, go to Reports and delete any virus / worms from Quarantine and Backups

Try also to download the fix for Blaster Worm and apply that

Once this is done try running the Upgrade

If the Upgrade fails again at this same point, then and only if you have a legitimate copy of XP Pro, ask Microsoft for a replacement CD.

Thomas,
Checking the Toshiba web site, I don't see a model A30 so I can't determine
what is available for your laptop. Check the web site and make sure you have
the latest bios and hardware updates.

I had the same problem and on the 15th (approx) restart the upgrade
went through OK. My advice is to keep on trying until it works.

Hi

I have the Satellite P15-S409 and after the first restart's instalation (at drivers loading) the instaler stop with a black screen. I'm upgrade from WinXpHome to WinXpPro.

Do you resolve your problem?
