my friend upgrade to XP and his f drive changed to e
drive.He now plays in both and can't record.names from
his f drive changed to his e drive. so when he tries to
record something it cant find the recorder in the f drive.

I've read this post twice and still can't exactly figure out what you
mean. Perhaps English is not your first language. Your friend should
back up his data, format the drive, and clean install Windows.

Use disk management (diskmgmt.msc) to change drive letters.
