Upgrade XP Home to Pro

I've recently attempted to do an XP Pro upgrade using a full retail version CD from the XP Home version that was factory installed on my new laptop, and have run into a couple of problems...

The network connection (802.11g) I had set up using an Atheros AR5001X+ chipset no longer functions. The device shows as wireless connection unavailable and when I double click to attempt to connect to wireless network, the window pops up greyed-out. No available networks, no network key, and the advanced adn connect options are not available.

The USB 2.0 connections no longer function. I plugged in my wireless mouse receiver, and got no powerto it, nor did the system detect the plug-in.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

I have a similar issue with a dell 2400 desktop unit. After upgrading from
XP Home to XP Pro SP2 the usb ports are no longer enabled. The system works
fine with a ps2 keyboard and mouse. Any suggestions???
