Upgrade windows server 2008 standard to enterprise

We have an application server that is getting maxed out on RAM. We went with
WS2008 Standard, mistake, now we need to add more RAM. Does anyone know the
upgrade process for going to Enterprise and adding more RAM. Does it just
work? Will windows immediately utilize the extra RAM?
