Upgrade to XP

I bought 2 used laptops from a small business. They have 2000 installed, and
I would like to put XP on them for home use. Will XP install over 2000?
Thanks.

Yep, should be fine. Do you have media and licenses for Win2000? You need
them, if you're to run Win2k or do an upgrade.

Since they're used, though, I'd do a clean install rather than an upgrade in
place - you can still use two copies of the XP upgrade version, not the full
versions - you just need to insert the qualifying media (not OEM custom
recovery disks) when prompted after booting from the XP upgrade CD.

The best way is to get the CD and do either a fresh install or upgrade, as
the hardware is going to be massively different so you cannot "copy" your
desktop installation to the laptop.
