Hi, recently I bought a media center pc (toshiba p20),
but unfortunately it came with the french version of
Windows Media Center, so I installed an english version
of Windows XP Profession, now I am wondering if it is
possible to upgrade my windows to Media Center Edition.
No, it isn't possible to "upgrade" to WinXP MCE. WinXP MCE is
available _only_ as a factory-installed OEM product, unless you happen
to have a MSDN subscription. If you had wanted an English version ,
that's what you should have ordered/purchased. You might try
contacting the computer's manufacturer to see if you can arrange to
exchange the computer with one with an English language OS, but
there's no guarantee the manufacturer will be agreeable. (Also, you
should be aware that by replacing the original OS, you may have voided
your warranty - various manufacturers have differing policies
regarding this.)
