Hello
i have an abit BE6-II mobo with an intel p2 500mhz slot 1 cpu and
about half a gig of ram.
I'm considering an upgrade but wondering whether to;

(a)flash the mobo with the latest bios and seek out a 1 GiG p3 slot 1
cpu (133 FSB) on the 2nd hand market (this is the fastest the mobo
will support)

(b) ditch the mobo and move up to P4 or similar..

i dont game or anything but just find my pc a little slow now so its a
performance /£££ trade off for best result..

the thing is,am i likely to notice any difference in the move from
500mhz to 1 gig cpu?

P4 MB w/ 2.8 P4 and 256MB DDR400 RAM is going to cost at least $300.

VIA-based MB, Athlon XP 2500+, 256MB DDR333 RAM setup would set you back
half that. The P4 setup would be faster, but not very much.

check newegg, they're reliable.
