Hiya mate.

Yeah whatever you choose to buy will run on your motherboard.

Personally i would go for the cheapest ATI 4850 512mb or the cheapest 9800GTX+ 512mb, will run about £125, but you should get minimum £50 on ebay for the 7950 Gx2.

The performance increase from either a 4850 or 9800GTX+ for the extra cash is alot better than shelling out a hundred for a 9800GT.

But if you are limited to £100 then 9800GT is the best bet, beats the 9600GT and is a newer version of the 8800GT, just uses less power really.

What resolution do you game at????

Because if its less than 1600 x 1200 or 1680 x 1050 then an 8800GS 320mb will still give twict the performance you have at the moment.

Plus you can upgrade your processor to a AMD 3.1Ghz Dual Core for £117.

The 8800GS coupled with an extra 700Mhz per core should see a big difference in your gaming ability.

Hope this helps.

i like the idear of getting a faster cpu and its only £50 so i think ill order 1

the card looks nice but i think i require atleast 512mb for running gta 4

is there any other cheap cards i can get or will i need to spend more on a 8800 512mb ?

You could try ebay, second hand 8800GT for £70.

Cheapest 9800GT i can find is £94 on Aria or OCUK.

Is upto you mate, you should get at least £70 resale on the graphics and cpu you have at the mo, so you could get the processor upgrade and the 4850 and still only have spent £100.

Personally i would buy the processor then see what difference i get, as a 7950 GX2 is still pretty decent, i have a 7950GT 512Mb in my Media Centre that i got off ebay a while ago for £30 and it will play games on medium fine on my 37" HDTV.

You can rule the Motherboard out as a problem as its a decent one, maybe get 2GB of different memory at CAS4 timings, having 4-4-4-12 is a big difference over 5-5-5-18.

Just something to think about before splashing the cash.
