Upgrade from Windows 98 to XP, Lost Password

I have a PC that I upgraded from Windows 98 to WIndows XP SP2. When it asks
for my username / password, my password no longer works. I searched the KB
and found article number 318026. I searched the setupact.log file and found
the following ling:

Random password for SOW is MCR8c7746UO4

I have tried entering this password, case-sensitive, but I still can't log
on to the PC. BTW, I booted to the floppy drive and then accessed the log
file on the PC. Am I missing something here? Must I re-run the upgrade?

Thanks,
Ken

Thanks Donny.

I have Windows XP Professional and I have tried your suggestion of using
safe-mode w/ the administrator account w/ no password. No luck
unfortuantely. Thanks again though.

Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and download the boot
disk, this will enable you to reset any system password on an NT class
operating system.
