Upgrade from FP 2002 to 2003 requires XP Pro CD - why?

Why does Service Pack 3 for Front Page 2003 require XP Pro CD? I have no
such CD as I have XP Home that came with my HP Pavillion. Your software
won't allow me to download this Service Pack. Is there a work-around? Thank
you!

Sincerely,
Brian Berardo

Have you installed all service packs for Windows XP?

Have you installed all prior service packs for Office 2003?

And there is no SP 3 for FrontPage 2003 or Office 2003 (or even Windows XP)

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your response. Yes I've installed all service packs for Windows
XP. And NO, I haven't installed service packs for Office 2003 because I
haven't purchased it - I'm still running Office 2002. Your query suggests
that I have to have Office 2003 just to install a Frontpage 2003 upgrade?
Have I failed to give Bill enough of my money once again?

Hi Stefan,
I appreciate your taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, the MS
Updates/Downloads is telling me, after examing my system and software, that I
DO need these Service Packs. Nice, eh?

Did you previously have Office 2000 installed? There may be remnants of an
Office 2000 program, which could be requiring Office SP3? This comes up now
and again in the Office Update newsgroup, so you may wish to post there.

Hi Tom,
Good suggestion which I'll follow. Yes, I had Office 2000 in a previous
life. It does seem the better forum for this thread. Thanks.

No, since you have FrontPage 2003, your system will hit on upgrades for
Office 2003. When prompted, try inserting your FP disk. It's not looking for
Windows XP Pro, it's looking for Office XP Pro.
