Upgrade AS to 2003 STD?

Hi.

I need to upgrade exisiting licensed 2000 Advanced Servers (AS) to 2003 STD.

There isn't an approved way to do this, but the site has no need for the
maximum 16 way boxes, STD supports the 4 way machines : they are not going to
pay the exorbident license fees of 2003 ENT .

The machines were installed as AS to cater for futire MUPping and clustering
way back, but never grew into their expected configs.

Is there any reg hack that will downgrade the 2000 AS machines to 2000 STD
to allow the 2003 upgrade?

QUESTION: Is there any reg hack that will downgrade the 2000 AS machines to
2000 STD
to allow the 2003 upgrade?

ANSWER: Not only is it not possible with a registry hack, but it's totally
an unsupported upgrade path. See reference article below.

I would have to agree with Mike. Not only is it unsupported, attempting
this course of action would likely violate your EULA / licensing agreements.

Sure there is a registry hack, but the approach as such is wrong in the
production environment.
