Updating W2k without Live Update... possible?

After a clean install of W2k SP4, normally I use Live update to bring it...
well... up-to-date, right? :)

Normally I find about 24 critical and 18 non-critical but useful, after one
reboot I find three more critical, and after another reboot another two...

Now I ask: is it possible to download the updates, hotfixes and programs and
save'em to disk and aferwards be able to apply'em using a batch or someting
to those computers that can't be connected to the internet?

Or, is it possible to slipstream these to your install disk?

Do somebody knows where should I look? I don't even know what search words I
should use in the Microsoft site...

I'm all ears...

Go to the Windows Update site
On the left is "something like" a customize link
Set it to show the CATALOG of items
You may now find fixes for ANY version of Windoze and download

Eh, Pepe,

Fred Langa has written extensively on this in his LangaList newsletter.
Since I've subscribed to the $12 (annual) Plus edition for years, I don't
know if the info was ever included in the free edition.

You can probably search Fred's LangaList archives by going to www.langa.com
and poking around. If you can't find the archives, or they don't mention
putting SPs and patches on a CD, let me know and I will see if I can help
you further. Come to think of it, I think he put some of the articles in
Information Week online. Try Googling that.

The answers to your questions about batching and slipstreaming are both yes,
you can.

Ciao,
Walter

Hi Pepe,

Yes, things are going very well for me--but not for the book, which is
dormant if not dead. Maybe someday.
