Updating FP2000 in XP

I’m running XP and Office 2003 Basic (i.e., no FP). I own a stand alone copy
of FP2000 that I’ve installed successfully on my new system. Looking at MS
updates I see refs to SR-1a and SP-2 but neither lists XP as an acceptable
OS; SP-3 lists XP but needs to be preceded by the other two. For simple web
design and uploading am I fine the way I am (i.e., un-updated FP2000 running
in XP)? Or do I really need the upgrades? If so, how can I accomplish them
(CDs apparently no longer available - huge downloads)? I have old (2001) SR-1
(not 1a) and SP-2 CDs but haven’t tried them since the web says they’re not
for XP. Suggestions other than upgrading to latest FP software? Thanks, David

Office 2003 SP do not affect Office 2000 (your FP 2000) SP
Office SP are for the Office products, not the OS
and Office 2000 SP will work on Win XP
(don't know where you got the info they are not for XP unless you misinterpreted not for Office XP (2002) as not for XP OS)
The SP correct bugs , and include security fix rollups
- they should be installed unless you can live w/ the "bugs" and security holes

That being said you will need your FP 2000 CD for any Office 2000 SP
(except for 2003 - if you installed all files already)
