This is the 3rd time I have tried to download Service
Pack 1. The two previous downloads failed the
installation. Why?? It took only a minute to download but
2 1/2 hours later it is still installing. There is no
indication (except for the bar) as to how the
installation is progressing. The bar reached the end an
hour ago and the installation history says it is still in
progress. Is this normal to take FOREVER to install? It
is 1 am and I'm reluctant to turn off the computer in
case it is actually still installing.

Hi,

Do two things before restarting the SP1 installation:

1) Disable your antivirus software. Make sure all associated processes are
killed in Task Manager/Processes tab.

2) Locate the catroot2 folder in C:\Windows\system32, right-click it and
rename it to catold.

Then retry the installation.
