Hi Marc,

No, I have all of those updates installed and have not experienced anything
like that. Disable auto-restart on system failure, see if it produces an
error message.

Control Panel/System/Advanced tab/startup and recovery settings, uncheck the
option to automatically restart on system failure. See if this gives you an
error message you can report back with.

I also have had no problems with those particular updates.

Yes, I experienced the same exact problem. After installing the
Windows Update security patches 823559 and 817606 my internet sessions
were interrupted when Internet Explorer suddenly crashed (and would
give me an error message). About a minute later, Windows XP (Home
Edition) would spontaneously reboot. This happened to me a few
different times. I did a system restore to a time before those
patches were installed, and now everything is fine. I am running an
Athlon 1.4 GHz, Epox 8k7a+, 512 MB PC2100 RAM. I just wanted to let
you know you're not the only one experiencing this type of problem.
