Updater still dead

Updates? I thought that was one of the bugs they fixed,
why you were supposed to download 615 to replace 614 -
mine is dead, even if I disable Norton Security.

Download 615 from MS.

www.microsoft.com > Popular downloads > Windows Antispyware

Save it NOT run it, just start install after download and install it
over ver 614.

After install, Menu File > Check for updates.
and maybe a "Full scan" not a "Quick scan".

Can you describe what happens? Are you talking about definition updates?
Can you confirm that help, about, shows you running .615?

If you are using AOL 9.0 Security Edition SE, launch AOL
and login. The AOL Dialer feature is buggy. Even though
you are connected, it thinks you are not connected. This
causes no all sorts of connection problems. Once you
launch AOL and sign in, the problem is fixed. Just don't
sign off until you are done online, or the problem WILL
return.
