update then problems

Running Win2K. Windows updater came up and I installed an
update. Now every time I try to open any program I
get "explorer.exe has generated errors and needs to
close" plus the active desktop recovery comes up. I have
rebooted, still nothing.

Which update did you install? Does uninstalling the update fix the problem?

Hi there!!

I've the same problems without updating anything. The
problem appears on two different machines during internet
surfing. Also the IEXPLOERR.EXE starts with the same error
message. I found no information in the eventlog or
anything else. Have you got any information's about the
solving of the problem?

I have it set to automatic update, so it was whatever
update came out last Monday. The control panel
install/unistall wont work along with most everything
else. (Strangely, AOL instant messenger still works.) I
can start up in safe mode and get to install/unistall. I
deleted all the updates and started up again. The same
problems are still happening.

I installed a new printer earlier that day, so the update
may have been related to the drivers for that.
