update first of two indexes

Stefan Blom's answer to the 6/13/2006 question about creating multiple
indexes was very helpful, but I find myself unable to update the first index
now that the second has been begun. When I try to, Word (2002) wants to
replace it with the second index. How does does one designate which index is
to be updated?

You can select the given index field and press F9.
