What is the proper procedure for upgrading NFR Win 2000 Server to full
retail?

We have obtained a full copy of retail product; when we started install, it
only prompted as though existing install would be over-written.

Do not want to lose installed apps, printers, defined users if it can be
avoided.

That is the only method however I'd look into slipstreaming SP4 Rollup prior
to doing this or at least making sure that the disk you "obtained" is of the
same SP as the current level of your 2k server. That *should* maintain your
data for you... However...
