Unwanted Taskbar

An all white taskbar has appeared, somehow, on the left
side of the desktop and has moved all the icons to the
right, takes up about 25% of desktop.
It has 3 topics - Folder Tasks - Other Places - Details.
Can't get rid of it and worse don't know where it resides.
Any help with this annoyance is appreciated.
