Unwanted Restore, Reformat or Quit Screen

I tried making a set of PC Recovery disc (12 each CD-R) for my Compaq
Presario V2000 laptop. Twelve disc were to be made but the disc creator
program stopped at 66% of writing of the first disc and would not go any
farther. The creation process would not continue and thus was unsuccessful.
I retried the recovery disc creation but had the same failure. Now,
everytime I boot up I get a DOS looking screen asking me if I want to do a PC
Restore, or a hard disc reformat or quit this screen. I choose quit this
screen. This is very annoying as I have to be presnt during the boot to
answer the questions. Why is this screen appearing and how do I stop it from
appearing? There is nothing wrong with my laptop PC. The laptop is running
XP home edition with SP2.
