Recently we had a party at my house my computer was on and
someone thought it would be funny to put a site
called "Live girls" on my browser I am not at all
interested in this site. Don't get me wrong I enjoy porn
as much as the next guy but this site is annoying and I do
not want to have it around any more. Is there any help
that you could give me as to how to get ride of this
crappy program I have no desire to ever see it again. I
have pulled up several files that it has been hidden in
and deleated them but somehow it keeps showing
up.Sometimes it says that "the countries failed to load "
and when I try to close the program it dose nothing but
reload the program. Then when I pull it up as a file to
delete it will re-appear within 5 seconds or so and it has
been re-installed on the browser. I do not care to have
this program around any longer.is their any advice that
you could give as to permantly delete this crap from my
desktop?
I am not that computer literate so if you could give me
give simple terms as to fix the problem that would be
great.
thank you Jason

Hi Jay,

Look in Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs and try to uninstall the
porn program... If that doesn't help install some anti AdWare and SpyWare
software. Lavasoft's AdAware does pretty good job and it is free. You can
get it at www.lavasoftusa.com -> download...
Since it works like Antivirus program it needs to be updated to get latest
signatures.
Also delete all the Cookies on your PC and all the Temporary Internet Files.

Also to protect your PC, install and use Antivirus. Don't forget to update
it at least once a week. And to keep your PC healthy, update it regularly.
Visit www.windowsupdate.com

I hope this helps you out.

See the "AdAware" section, but the rest is good advice, too -

*** Good security housekeeping tips, in no particular order: ***

* See http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm

* Go to www.lavasoftusa.com and download AdAware...install, launch, update &
run it. This will rid your computer of spyware/adware.

* Use antivirus software (www.grisoft.com has a freebie) and update it
regularly - at least once a week; daily if possible.

* Use a good firewall to block access to your computer from the Internet
(www.sygate.com is a decent freebie for a standalone workstation; hardware
appliances are a better choice for networks).

* Get a popup blocker to stop IE popups, such as www.panicware.com (they
offer a free one)

* Run Windows Update regularly (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) to get
all the latest patches for your operating system.

* See http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm for lots of information on
browser hijacking and how to stop it

* Do not use Imesh or Kazaa any other peer-to-peer file sharing software,
ever.

* Do not use Hotbar.

The program you are having trouble with is more than
likely set to run at startup. Look in your startup
folder at windows\program files\startup and delete it.
If it isnt there it will be in the registry. Hit the
start button, click on run, and type in regedit, hit
enter. From there, navigate to HKLocal Machine,
Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version, and Run.
That will show you a list of all the programs that start
when you boot your pc. You should see something related
to the porn software that is running. Delete that from
your registry and that should take care of your problem.
If it is not in the run folder, look in the 'Run
Services' folder 2 down from the run key. A word of
warning, the registry is the nerve center of your
computer, dont mess with anything else, you might end up
with a pc that wont run.
